Ocean Unit

 Our school psychologist is a former art teacher and wanted to co-teach a lesson together. She read "Mister Seahorse" by Eric Carle and then did a little Art History as she explained Eric Carle's illustration technique. Then the students painted 3 sheets of paper and used different tools (combs, forks, Q-tips) to add texture to the paper. She came back a few days later and we worked the students through the steps to create a tropical fish using the three pieces of paper. We had so much fun and the final product turned out so cute!
We made seahorses using tissue paper pieces. We also made jellyfish and created a math journal using sea shells.
